Student/Parent Handbook

Student admission policy at Nibras Ideal School:

Nibras Ideal School for Special Needs grants accredited professional certificates - in accordance with the rehabilitative educational curriculum for students with mental disabilities. These professional certificates enable them to join the Kuwaiti labor market according to their abilities (in application of the articles of the Kuwaiti Qualification Law No. 8 of 2010) as well as the aforementioned ministerial decision. The school provides its services to students from the age of 6 to 21 years. Parents wishing to enroll their children in Nibras Model School should see the following:

Registration Process

  • Fill out the admission form (application for admission) and attach the required documents (disability certificate and valid educational decision), as an incomplete form will not be received.
  • After ensuring that the documents comply with the admission criteria and conditions, the student will be called for an evaluation by the evaluation team, which is a multidisciplinary team.
  • If the student passes the evaluation and a vacancy becomes available, the parents will be interviewed.
  • The student is not registered until after completing the registration requirements.

Admission Criteria

  • Disability category: intellectual disability
  • The chronological age of the stage in which registration is required
  • Passing tests based on the objectives of the qualifying educational curriculum.

Registration and Required Documents

The student file contains the following documents:

  • A copy of the disability proof certificate from the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs.
  • A copy of the educational decision that is valid and identical to the certificate from the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs.
  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate.
  • A copy of the vaccination certificate.
  • A copy of the father’s nationality certificate.
  • A copy of the custody or caretaker in the event of divorce or separation.
  • A copy of the civil ID for each student, father and mother.
  • Student file from previous school.
  • Health card.
  • Transfer certificate
  • Clearance
  • 16 recent personal photos.

Non-Kuwaiti Student

  • A copy of a certificate proving the student’s disability from any medical center or hospital.
  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate.
  • A copy of the custody or caretaker in the event of divorce or separation.
  • A copy of the passport of the student, father and mother showing the valid residency page.
  • A copy of the student’s civil ID
  • Student file from previous school
  • Health card
  • Transfer certificate
  • Clearance
  • 16 personal photos

Procedures for registering in the program after meeting the evaluation criteria:

The student file contains the following documents:

  • A copy of the disability proof certificate from the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs.

Kuwaiti students who have papers from the Public Authority for Disability:

  • The student is accepted into the school after obtaining an orientation card from the Authority in accordance with the conditions mentioned below and specified by them:
  • The student must be a resident of the Farwaniya Governorate to which the Nibras School belongs. An exception to this decision is the student who has siblings previously enrolled in the school, or whose place of work of one of the parents is in the same governorate, after bringing a To Whom It May Concern paper.
  • If the address on the civil ID does not match the student’s actual address, a copy of the rental contract or house ownership deed can be brought to prove the student’s address within the governorate and be submitted as a document to the authority attached to the student’s papers for acceptance.
  • The presence of the guardian or person responsible for the student’s care to sign the registration papers.
  • Submit the required documents related to the student’s file to Student Affairs (mentioned previously).
  • The parent brings a transfer certificate from the previous school.
  • Bring clearance.
  • The student can attend and begin his school day after submitting the health file to the Nursing Department.
  • The guardian can receive the health file from the previous school, or if it is not available, he is given a health form sheet by the school and goes to school health to obtain the file.

Non-Kuwaiti students or who do not have papers from the Authority:

After meeting the evaluation criteria, the guardian signs the following documents:

  1. Registration papers.
  2. Submit the previously mentioned required documents (non-Kuwaiti student) to the Student Affairs Office.
  3. The school’s financial policy.
  4. Declaration and pledge to pay fees according to the adopted financial policy.
  5. Bring the transfer certificate as mentioned previously, in addition to a liability release.
  6. The student can begin his school day after bringing the health file and submitting it to the nursing department.

Transfer and Withdrawal Procedures of the Student File:

  • Sign the form to withdraw the student’s file from the school.
  • The student can obtain the health file and his previous file from the school, provided that he brings no objection from the school to which he is transferred.
  • The student is given a release signed by the school principal, with no financial liability for the student at the school.
